About Kyo Kuromontsuki Zome: It has a history of over 1,000 years being designated as "Traditional Crafts of Japan" by Japanese government since 1979. The technique is used to dye Kimono for special occasions, such as funerals and weddings.
Characteristic of Kyo Kuromontsuki Zome: Its high quality and elegant black color. The item is dyed by Kyoto Montsuki Co., Ltd., a pioneer of the dyeing to apply our items their unique technique called “Shinkuro” finish which gives deep elegance, water-repellent and silky feel.

SOME-ISM's cotton knitted cap, made from a white NEWHATTAN cotton knit cap and carefully dyed by Kyo Kuromontsuki Zome artisans in Kyoto, Japan.
Finished with a unique "Shinkuro" treatment, the cap achieves a deep, elegant black that suppresses light reflection, giving the color exceptional depth and sophistication. The traditional Kyo Kuromontsuki Zome technique creates a high-quality black with a refined, luxurious appearance, while the Shinkuro finish also provides water repellency and a smooth, silky feel.
Made from cotton, it is comfortable to wear throughout the year.

[Handling precautions]
Please wash separately as the color may bleed onto other items when washed. Do not use bleach or detergents containing bleach or optical brighteners. Do not leave it on as this may cause discoloration, and do not leave it unattended after washing. Dry it in the shade. After washing, please store it in a place where it will not be exposed to direct light, as even household lighting will cause discoloration. Do not dry clean nor iron it.
